Equipment:
Soda Siphon
Ingredients:
1-liter cold water
1-soda charger
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Course: Beverages
Cuisine: Global
Servings: 4 cups (1-liter)
Instructions:
·
Before
you start making soda water, check if there is any soda water in the bottle. If
so, then throw it away.
·
If
your bottle is already carbonated before, do not add more gas.
Directions:
Fill the bottle with water
1.
To open the bottle, screw off the top portion.
2.
Remove the tube from the bottle.
3.
Now pour water into the bottle. Make sure that the water is cold. The
temperature of the water matters a lot when making soda water. Warm water will
ruin the process, and you will not get the desired result.
4.
Keep pouring the water until it becomes full and starts to come out of
the bottle. Siphons prevent overfilling by spitting out the excess water.
5.
Add the tube back to center the bottle.
6.
Screw the top back and close the bottle tightly.
Add gas to the bottle:
1.
Unscrew the head of the siphon and uncover the bottle.
2.
Now place the soda charger into the holder. Make sure that its tip is
facing outwards.
3.
Remember that one soda charger is enough for 1 liter.
4.
Now the next thing you need to do is screw the lid tightly.
5.
It will result in piercing the tip, and you will hear the sound of gas
release. Do not over carbonate the water.
6.
Shake the bottle at least seven times.
7.
Keep shaking until the gas dissolves in water.
8.
Now remove the charger again. You will hear the piercing sound again.
9.
In the end, screw the cap of the bottle.
Serve the soda water:
1.
Place a glass under the spout of the bottle.
2.
Press the spout of the bottle and pour the soda water into the glass.
3.
Press the lever gently since the pressure may be very high at the start.
